Holly Home Remodel

Located in one of St. Paul’s most charming historic districts, this 1882 home had lived many lives — from a single-family residence to single-room rentals and a series of mismatched additions. Our goal was to bring it back to its roots with a layout that worked for modern living.

We removed the structurally compromised back portion and replaced it with a thoughtful new addition, creating an open floor plan while preserving the home’s original character. The entire house was taken down to the studs and rebuilt with updated mechanicals for comfort and efficiency.

A favorite moment? Uncovering a hand-painted billboard sign during demo — which we preserved and wove into the design.

And fun fact: this was the project that sparked Holly Home Renovations. The mix of challenge, creativity, and collaboration showed us that we make a pretty great team — and gave us the push to turn our passion into a business.

Today, the home is once again a warm, welcoming single-family space that proudly shows off its history. It’s even been featured on both the Summit Hill and Ramsey Hill House Tours — a testament to the care and craftsmanship in every detail.
