Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
We specialize in remodeling older and historic homes — the kind with character, charm, and stories to tell. Whether it’s a kitchen, bathroom, basement, full-home renovation, or an addition, we love bringing new life to well-loved spaces while honoring the unique character of your home.
We love historical homes (seriously — the trickier, the better), but we don’t limit ourselves to them. Whether your home is a century old or just a few decades in, we bring the same thoughtful approach and craftsmanship to every project.
We’re a husband-and-wife team, and we stay personally involved from the very first phone call to the final walkthrough. You won’t get passed around or lost in a big company shuffle — we’re in it with you the whole way. We also build a custom team for every project, pulling together the right designers, architects, and tradespeople to fit your home and your vision. It’s a personal process, and that’s exactly how we like it.
We guide the design process, helping you make decisions that fit your style and goals. For smaller projects, we provide in-house design support if you already have a general idea of what you’re looking for. For larger or more design-heavy projects, we recommend working with one of the talented designers or architects in our trusted network. This collaborative approach ensures your project is thoughtfully planned and perfectly tailored.
The timeline depends on your project’s size and scope. The project development phase typically takes 2 to 9 months, and construction timelines can vary. We start discussing timelines early on to make sure we’re aligned and set realistic expectations from the start.
Costs vary depending on the size of your project. We’ll discuss general costs during our initial call, and recommend the Cost vs. Value report for Minneapolis as a starting point. However, keep in mind the report can sometimes underreport actual costs due to rising material and labor prices. After the planning phase, we’ll provide a detailed proposal with an exact cost, so you’ll have full transparency.
We don’t offer in-house financing, but we can connect you with trusted lenders who specialize in home renovation loans. We’re happy to help point you in the right direction!
A general contractor professionally manages your project from start to finish. We handle everything from design and permits to scheduling and subcontractor management. With our experience in historical homes, we anticipate challenges and offer solutions, saving you time, stress, and costly mistakes.
Yes, we manage all necessary permits and ensure compliance with local regulations, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.
Look for a contractor who is involved every step of the way — someone who listens and truly understands your vision. A proven process is key to keeping things on track, and a solid network of trusted trade partners ensures your project is executed with care and quality. And, most importantly, trust your gut! Choose someone you feel comfortable working with, and who you know will deliver exactly what you want.
Ready to get started? Reach out to us for a consultation! We’ll discuss your goals, budget, and timeline to figure out the best plan for your home.
